Create, Import & Manage Your Wallet
How to create a new wallet, import an existing one, back it up, and manage your accounts and networks on Ritdex — fully self-custodial.
The Wallet is your home base on Ritdex. It's self-custodial: your keys and funds live on your device and on-chain, never with Ritdex. This guide covers creating a wallet, importing one you already have, backing it up, and managing your accounts.
Create a new wallet
- Open Wallet from the top menu and choose Create wallet.
- Set a password — it encrypts your wallet on this device (it is not your recovery phrase and can't recover funds on its own).
- Ritdex generates a recovery phrase (12/24 words). Write it down and store it offline.
- Confirm the phrase to finish.
Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your funds. Never share it, never type it into a website, and never store it as a screenshot or in cloud notes. Anyone with the phrase controls the wallet. Ritdex will never ask for it.
Import an existing wallet
Already have a wallet? Choose Import wallet and pick a method:
| Method | Use when |
|---|---|
| Recovery phrase | You have your 12/24-word seed from Ritdex/OneKey or another compatible wallet |
| Private key | You want to import a single account by its private key |
| Hardware wallet | You keep keys on a hardware device (for holding; enabling trading needs a signature the device can produce) |
Enter your secret exactly as given (word order matters for a phrase), set a device password, and your accounts appear.
Back up & secure
- Back up the recovery phrase the day you create the wallet — before you deposit anything.
- Keep at least one offline copy in a safe place; consider a second copy in a separate location.
- Your password protects the wallet on this device; losing it means re-importing with the phrase.
See Wallet & Security for the full non-custodial model and how the trade-only agent works.
Manage your accounts
From the Wallet you can:
- Switch / add accounts — derive additional accounts from the same phrase, each with its own address.
- Rename accounts for clarity.
- View addresses & receive — get your address (or QR) to receive funds.
- Networks — Ritdex trades perps on Hyperliquid (an EVM venue); make sure you're funding the address shown in the deposit screen.
- Choose token and network
- Paste or scan the recipient address
- Enter amount, review network fee
- Sign to broadcast on-chain
- Choose the token/network you're receiving
- Share your address or QR code
- Funds appear once the sender's tx confirms
Fund it and start trading
- Deposit USDC to your trading address (Deposits & Withdrawals).
- Enable Trading — a one-time signature approves the Ritdex builder + trade-only agent. No funds move; it only authorizes order placement.
- Head to the Market or Perps Trading to place your first trade.
Lost device, safe funds. Because Ritdex is self-custodial, your funds aren't tied to any single device — reinstall Ritdex on a new device, import your recovery phrase, and everything is back.
